Andrew Hussie and the pacing of "Homestuck"
Someone linked this to me after I posted that wall of text earlier, and I thought I’d link it here for the benefit of anyone who may care, or might just be curious what all the hubbub was about. Regardless of your perceptions of it as a comic, for better or worse, I really do feel like it delivers it’s narrative in a very impressive and unique way (even if, sometimes especially because, that way is incredibly stupid/silly at points). Forget shipping, herp derp fan-art, head canon and all that stuff. It’s all well and good for those who are interested in it, but I’ve generally avoid fandoms of any book/movie/show/what-have-you I’m really interested in by nature of the fact that I feel like it removes me from the artistic quality, and at the end of that day that’s what I love about Homestuck. It can be at the same time incredibly silly or up it’s own ass, but retain an amazing level of narrative delivery and dramatic exposition. Sorry for getting on my soap box about shit I doubt more than maybe 4 or 5 people who follow me give even the vaguest of shits about, but this is what happens to me on Sundays when I’m over-caffeinated and left to my own devices in an empty office with access to the internet ;x
